207 shop windows, 10 big brands, 1 bold book: the definitive overview of today's shop window culture.

The editors of Frame magazine invited ten couturiers and shops to participate in Forefront, an overview of today's shop window culture. Featured are more than 200 bold and lyrical window displays by the likes of Barneys, Bergdorf Goodman, Harvey Nichols, Hermès Japan, Moschino, Selfridges and Louis Vuitton. Also included are interviews with all the designers. The book's graphic design matches the expressiveness of the featured work. A must-have for everyone involved in retail.

Graphic designer Thomas Buxó approached Forefront as if he were putting together an imaginary newspaper, complete with clippings and double-page spreads. This bold example of graphic design features black-and-white and colour presentations, each of which considers the relationship - sometimes interactive, sometimes fraught with tension - between a creative world sheltered behind the display window and the world outside, on the pavement, where glass is sometimes shattered into a million pieces.
